The "Art Department" for Small Producers
Running a small business means you are the owner, the maker, the shipper, the bookkeeper, and the person sweeping up at the end of the day.
You should not have to be the art department too!
I’m François, a visual storyteller and former farm-to-table chef based in Saint Albans. I make product photography and short social media pieces for Vermont makers, with a focus on the product, the people, the ingredients, and the process behind the work.
1. Product & Process Photography
I help food producers, farms, makers, and small businesses show the labor, choices, and process behind what they make.
Most product photography happens in my studio, where I can control the light, background, and details from the ground up.
When the work belongs in your place, I come to you. Your barn. Your kitchen. Your workshop. Your fields. I photograph people working, hands, tools, ingredients, finished products, and the process that gives the product its value.
The final images are prepared for websites, social media, packaging, wholesale sheets, shop displays, and printed material.
2. Short Social Media Pieces
I also make short social media pieces built from still photographs.
These are 5 to 10 second motion pieces made for small businesses that need something clear, useful, and ready to post without turning the day into a full video production.
Steam rises from a dish. Flowers fall around a jar. A bee lifts off a label and disappears out of frame. The product stays clear. The movement gives people a reason to stop and look.
These pieces work well for social media, websites, email, product launches, and seasonal promotions.
3. Recipe Development & Brand Writing
Before photography, I spent thirty years as a professional chef and cookbook author. That background lets me work with food, farms, and makers from more than one angle.
I can develop recipes around your maple syrup, honey, cheese, spice blend, cider, meat, produce, or pantry product. The recipe can be written for home cooks, social media, a printed card, a website, or a label.
I can also help with product descriptions, captions, short stories, and straightforward language that explains what you make, how you make it, and why it matters.
What clients say
“My products have never looked better.”
“His photos are gorgeous. My products have never looked better. He made me a cool movie graphic of flowers falling around my product, and the bee on my label buzzing away out of the shot. Does it get any better than this? I highly recommend working with François.”
